Job Description:

As a Cashier/Customer Service team member at Silver Dollar Spur, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our guests have an exceptional dining experience. You will be responsible for handling transactions accurately, providing excellent customer service, and contributing to the overall success of our restaurant. This role is available on both contract and permanent bases, with contract lengths ranging from 12 to 24 months.

Key Responsibilities:

Cash Handling: Accurately process guest payments using a Point of Sale (POS) system, handling cash, credit, and debit card transactions. Customer Service: Provide friendly, efficient, and attentive service to all guests, addressing their inquiries, concerns, and requests in a professional and courteous manner.

Order Processing: Efficiently take and process customer orders, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Menu Knowledge: Have a thorough understanding of our menu items, including ingredients, preparation methods, and special offers, to assist guests with their selections.

Upselling: Promote additional menu items, specials, and promotions to enhance the guest experience and increase sales. Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and organized cashier station, ensuring it is well-stocked with supplies.

Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with kitchen and waitstaff to ensure smooth restaurant operations. Compliance: Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and relevant regulations, including food safety and hygiene standards. Problem Resolution: Handle guest complaints and concerns professionally, seeking prompt resolution and ensuring guest satisfaction.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications and attributes:

Minimum of 1-2 years of cashier and customer service experience. South African citizenship or valid work authorization. Excellent verbal communication skills in English. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in cash handling.

Customer-focused mindset with a positive attitude. Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Team player with excellent interpersonal skills. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
