The Role of a Shell Retailer
As a Shell retailer, you’ll manage every facet of your service station, including fuel sales, retail store management, customer service, and team leadership. Brand Ambassadorship
We need passionate individuals who can represent and advocate for Shell’s core values, serving as the face of our brand in the local community. You will:

Operate the Business Hands-On: Be directly involved in the daily operations of your service station, from fuel sales to retail management. Lead in Health and Safety: Demonstrate a strong commitment to health, safety, security, and environmental (HSSE) standards, setting an example for your team. Requirements
To be considered for a Shell retail franchise, you must meet the following criteria:
South African Citizenship: Only South African citizens are eligible to apply. Preference for Black Candidates: As outlined by B-BBEE, preference will be given to black candidates, with an emphasis on black women. Integrity and Compliance: Candidates must meet Shell’s Anti-Bribery and Corruption requirements and complete Integrity Due Diligence checks. Financial Contribution: A personal financial contribution of at least R500,000 towards the purchase of the franchise is required.
Entrepreneurial and Business Skills
We’re looking for applicants who have experience in business management and an entrepreneurial drive. A successful Shell retailer brings strategic thinking, dedication, and a commitment to continuous learning.
Business Experience: Ideally, candidates will have at least five years of experience in senior management within a corporate environment or have successfully managed their own business. Revenue Standards: Preference for those who have managed a business with annual revenue exceeding R1 million.
Entrepreneurial Mindset: Innovation, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic are essential. Retail Economics Knowledge: Familiarity with retail operations and strong financial literacy is preferred. Customer Focus: Candidates must have a passion for serving customers and energizing teams to deliver quality service in a fast-paced environment. Leadership: Strong leadership skills, discipline, and adherence to business principles are vital to ensure consistent, high-quality service.
