About the Role
As a Festive Casual, you will play a vital role in delivering outstanding service to our valued guests. Your responsibilities will include working in various cinema roles, such as Cashier (Box Office Sales, Catering Sales, or Collections), Cinema Assistant, Waiter, or Poppers. You may also be required to assist with other cinema-related tasks as directed by your supervisor.
This role is ideal for individuals who are flexible, enthusiastic, and ready to take on a range of responsibilities. Your work will ensure that every guest enjoys an unforgettable visit to our cinemas.
Key Responsibilities
As a Festive Casual, you will perform a variety of tasks, including but not limited to:
Customer Interaction and Service
Provide exceptional customer service to all guests, ensuring their needs are met promptly and efficiently. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Ster-Kinekor’s products, services, and promotions to offer informed recommendations and upsell where appropriate. Handle queries with professionalism and ensure that guests leave with a positive impression.
Cinema Presentation and Maintenance
Ensure all presentation standards are met, including: Displaying age restriction notices. Keeping synopsis files and movie posters updated and neat. Maintaining appealing and organized F&B product displays. Updating and displaying disclaimers clearly. Conduct regular checks to ensure cleanliness in all areas, including kitchen equipment, counters, and surrounding spaces.
Food and Beverage Preparation
Prepare food and beverages such as popcorn and slushies according to quality standards. Monitor product quality and promptly address any deviations to maintain high standards. Package and store prepared products correctly to ensure freshness.
Operational Support
Assist in preparation for shifts, ensuring all necessary tasks are completed for smooth operations. Maintain organized and clean storerooms, adhering to company standards. Support health and safety protocols by submitting required reports and adhering to uniform and safety guidelines.
What We’re Looking For
Qualifications and Experience
Education: Matric certificate. Experience: No prior experience is required, but 0–1 year of experience in a similar role is advantageous. Familiarity with VISTA software is a plus. Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office Suite (basic level).
Key Skills and Attributes
Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to engage effectively with guests and colleagues. Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work collaboratively and build positive relationships with the team and guests. Organizational Skills: Attention to detail and excellent administrative capabilities to maintain smooth operations.
Presentation: Must be presentable and adhere to company standards at all times. Adaptability: Flexibility to take on various roles and responsibilities as required. Professionalism: Conduct yourself with integrity and represent Ster-Kinekor positively.
