Job Opportunity: Store Assistant – Mr Price Cellular (On-Site)

This exciting role focuses on achieving store objectives, meeting sales targets, and exceeding customer service standards.
Key Responsibilities
Stock Management
Efficiently oversee the receiving and unpacking of stock to ensure accurate merchandising and replenishment of the sales floor. Monitor stock levels using established processes such as stock counts, stock takes, and stock loss action plans to mitigate risks and maintain adequate inventory.
Ensure the stockroom is organized and maintained according to housekeeping standards. Authorize and manage processes related to stock adjustments, such as write-offs, breakages, recalls, out-of-box failures (OBF), and cellular repairs or returns.
Sales Growth & Profitability
Analyze store sales and profitability reports to collaborate with management on operational action plans that drive sales performance and control expenditure. Monitor product performance and provide constructive feedback to the support center to enhance in-store sales strategies.
Identify and leverage new opportunities to boost sales and increase brand awareness, including in-store marketing campaigns and competitor analysis. Drive key areas of performance such as credit applications, insurance sales, mobile services, and cellular product offerings to achieve the store’s budgeted goals.
Risk Management
Assist the Store Manager in conducting regular compliance checks through standardized processes such as administrative reviews, store audits, visual merchandising checks, POS system reports, health and safety inspections, weekly hanger counts, and security assessments. Ensure that all store policies and procedures are strictly adhered to, mitigating risks and maintaining operational efficiency.
Customer Experience Management
Implement and maintain customer experience initiatives to ensure that every customer interaction aligns with the company’s standards. Oversee processes related to markdowns, repricing, promotions, and customer feedback to enhance satisfaction levels. Maintain visual merchandising and housekeeping standards to create a welcoming and appealing store environment.
Leadership & Team Development
Inspire and lead the store team to achieve key performance indicators (KPIs) and align with the company’s values and operational strategies. Identify training and coaching opportunities for team members, focusing on talent development and succession planning. Handle recruitment, onboarding, and performance management processes in line with company policies.
Required Qualifications and Skills
Education and Experience:
A minimum of NQF Level 4 (Grade 12) or equivalent qualification. At least one year of experience in the retail industry is advantageous.
Core Competencies:
Strong understanding of sales and service management principles. Budgeting and financial planning skills. Proficient in using computer systems and software. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of the retail trade, including customer service and product categories like cellular, mobile, new accounts, and insurance.
