Job Overview: Join our team as a Trainee Manager and embark on a journey to become a proficient Retail Store Manager. Through our comprehensive Trainee Management programme, you will acquire the essential knowledge and skill set required for successful retail leadership within a specified timeframe.
Minimum Requirements:
Proficient in numeracy with a solid understanding of the retail industry. An advantageous 1-3 years of experience in a retail environment. Successful completion of the Trainee Numeracy Screening test at the required level.
Demonstrated success in a minimum of 2 competency-based interviews. Flexibility and willingness to facilitate transfers between stores. Consent to undergo a thorough credit and criminal background check.
Matriculated, with a certified copy of your certificate attached to the application. Possession of a valid South African ID (attached copy required). Possession of a valid Driver’s license (if you have one) with a certified copy of the license attached.
Key Responsibilities:
Uphold standards of hygiene, housekeeping, and safety in both front and back areas of the store. Adhere to security protocols and procedures. Maintain merchandise and display standards, ensuring an appealing shopping environment.
Conduct regular quality checks, manage stock rotation, and remove damaged/expired items. Implement measures to prevent wastage, shrinkage, and damages. Ensure accurate pricing through meticulous label checks. Complete administrative tasks with precision and timeliness.
Analyze, update, and manage relevant information and documentation as required. Plan and execute sales promotions to drive store traffic. Provide product recommendations and assistance to customers based on their needs. Monitor and manage budgets effectively.
Analyze department profitability, offering actionable insights and recommendations. Maintain optimal stock levels through efficient ordering practices. Lead and manage a team of employees, fostering competence and motivation.
