Job Overview: Dis-Chem Pharmacies Limited is seeking dedicated and experienced Cleaners to join our team at our newly opened store. As a Store Cleaner, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our store maintains the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene as per Dis-Chem’s guidelines. Your responsibilities will encompass various areas, including the store floor, stock room, dispensary, admin office, and canteen.

Minimum Requirements:

Essential:

Grade 11-12 / Matric. A minimum of 6 months’ cleaning experience. Proficient in English (both written and oral). Basic customer service skills. Additional language relevant to the area. Willing and able to work retail hours

Advantageous:

• Bilingual
• Previous experience in retail store cleaning

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness throughout the store, including the shop floor and communal areas, before the store opens each day. Develop and follow routines to ensure that all areas of the store are consistently maintained to a high standard of cleanliness.

Ensure that the canteen and restrooms are clean and adequately stocked with necessary products at all times. Be available during operational hours to address any cleaning needs promptly.

Properly utilize cleaning products and equipment for specific tasks. Display a friendly and professional demeanor while assisting customers. Perform duties in compliance with Health and Safety Regulations.

Competencies:

Essential:

Previous cleaning experience. Strong command of the English language (both written and oral). Customer service skills. Trustworthy and honest. Attention to detail. Presentable appearance. Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks. Effective time management

Advantageous:

• Previous retail store cleaning experience
• Bilingual proficiency

Special Conditions of Employment:

Willingness and ability to work retail hours. Physically fit for tasks involving walking, standing, climbing, kneeling, bending, pushing, pulling, lifting, and moving objects. Reliable transportation and/or residing in close proximity to the store. South African Citizen. Clear credit and criminal records
