Our retail department store, situated in the bustling China Mall in Amalgam, Johannesburg, offers a wide range of homeware products, accessories, stationery, and makeup. Reporting directly to the Store Manager, the General Worker will play a pivotal role in maintaining the smooth operation of our store. Responsibilities will include stock handling, shelf organization, store cleanliness, and providing exceptional assistance to our valued customers.
Duties & Responsibilities:
As a General Worker, your key responsibilities will encompass:
Offloading of Stock: Efficiently and safely unloading incoming stock shipments, ensuring accuracy and care in handling merchandise. Packing of Stock onto Shelves: Organizing and stocking merchandise on shelves, maintaining an organized and visually appealing store layout.
Store Cleanliness: Commitment to maintaining a clean and orderly store environment, including routine cleaning tasks to uphold our high standards of hygiene and presentation.
Customer Assistance: Providing friendly and helpful assistance to customers on the sales floor, addressing inquiries, locating products, and ensuring a positive shopping experience.
Desired Experience & Qualification:
To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and attributes:
Customer Service Experience: A solid background of 2-3 years in customer service, demonstrating your ability to engage effectively with customers, understand their needs, and provide solutions. Retail Experience: Previous experience in a retail setting is highly advantageous, as it familiarizes you with store operations and customer expectations.
Effective Communication: Strong communication skills to interact confidently and courteously with customers and team members. Customer-Centric Attitude: A dedication to delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Clean Criminal Record: Maintaining a clear criminal record to uphold our commitment to safety and integrity. Availability: Flexibility to work weekends and public holidays as part of your regular schedule Reliable Transport: Possession of reliable transportation to ensure punctuality and reliability in attendance.
Package & Remuneration:
The remuneration for this position is set at R25.42 per hour, reflecting our commitment to fair compensation and valuing the contributions of our team members.
