Position Overview: We are currently seeking a diligent and reliable Warehouse Operator to join our team. As a Warehouse Operator, your primary responsibility will be to efficiently handle incoming and outgoing merchandise in accordance with established warehouse protocols. This pivotal role entails inspecting and reporting any damages or discrepancies in the merchandise, ensuring proper storage, utilizing various equipment including forklifts, high/low level order pickers, and reach trucks, and upholding strict safety standards. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized work environment to ensure optimal operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Receiving and Verification: Receive incoming shipments and meticulously verify the accuracy of merchandise received. Thoroughly inspect all merchandise for damages or discrepancies, promptly reporting any issues to management.
Merchandise Handling: Sort merchandise based on the designated storage location. Utilize forklifts, high/low level order pickers, and reach trucks to load, move, stack, store, or pick stock with precision and care.
Safety Compliance: Strictly adhere to all relevant health and safety rules and regulations, promoting a culture of safety within the warehouse. Handle hazardous materials in accordance with safety protocols, ensuring the safety of yourself and others.
Inventory Management: Conduct regular inventory counts as required, maintaining accurate records of stock levels. Cleanliness and Organization: Maintain a clean and organized workspace to enhance overall operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:
Previous experience in a warehouse or similar role is preferred. Detail-oriented with a keen eye for identifying damages and discrepancies. Proficiency in operating forklifts, high/low level order pickers, and reach trucks. Ability to stand for extended periods, demonstrating physical stamina.
Strong commitment to safety and a thorough understanding of safety protocols. Excellent organizational skills to effectively manage merchandise and inventory. Knowledge of handling hazardous materials safely. Dedicated and reliable with a strong work ethic.
Working Environment: You will be an integral part of our warehouse team, working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The role may require you to lift heavy objects, operate machinery, and stand for extended periods, so physical fitness and stamina are essential.
