Key Purpose:
The successful applicant for this internship will be responsible for various operations functions within the client servicing area, including claims, call centre, and technical credit control.
Responsibilities:
Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Answering inbound and outbound calls promptly to satisfy Discovery Life policyholders. Responding to inbound and outbound correspondence accurately, thoroughly, and promptly. Managing all queries through to resolution. Coordinating your own administration tasks.
Maintaining accurate details and statistics of all queries. Providing product information to all Discovery Life clients following standards and protocols. Taking ownership and accountability for all telephonic and written queries. Processing online service quotes. Administering service changes and claims over billing periods. Ensuring resolution of first-time queries.
Adhering to standard operating procedures and appropriate policies to ensure compliance. Processing claims payments. Implementing testing plans and procedures as required to ensure accurate business support enhancements. Sourcing data and investigating billing issues.
Handling notification failures. Managing refunds, credits, and debits related to ex-gratia or ad hoc processes on policies to ensure accurate payment accounting. Providing monthly reports on work and statistics.

Education and Experience:
You should meet the following education and experience requirements for this internship:
Matric (High School Diploma) – Essential. Diploma/Degree in Administration or a related tertiary qualification. Data analytics qualification – advantageous. Intermediate Proficiency with MS Office suite (minimum Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word).
Not more than 1-year Administration experience from vac work or part-time work – Advantageous. A minimum of 6 months Call Centre experience within a financial institution in an inbound environment – Advantageous. Accounting knowledge – Advantageous.
Ability to operate independently and under pressure, perform multiple concurrent tasks and responsibilities, and deal with changing priorities while maintaining personal effectiveness.
