COMPANY OVERVIEW

JOB PURPOSE
The primary purpose of this position is to transport and deliver retail products safely and efficiently. The driver must ensure that deliveries reach the correct destinations on time, that product quantities and delivery documents are accurate, and that all driving activities comply with road safety requirements and relevant traffic laws. The role also involves vehicle inspections, maintaining cleanliness, and assisting with the loading and offloading of stock when required.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. SAFE VEHICLE OPERATION
Operate the assigned vehicle responsibly and follow all applicable traffic laws and road safety regulations. Comply with company policies and procedures relating to vehicle operation and deliveries. Drive carefully and professionally while transporting retail products to the required destinations. Deliver retail products to customers, stores, branches, and other designated locations. Ensure that deliveries are completed accurately and within the required timeframes.
Confirm that products are transported to the correct destinations and handled responsibly throughout the delivery process. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to identify potential defects or maintenance concerns. Ensure that the vehicle remains clean and well-maintained. Report any vehicle issues through the appropriate channels, where necessary, to support safe and reliable operations.
4. DELIVERY DOCUMENTATION AND STOCK CHECKS
Check delivery documentation before and during the delivery process. Verify product quantities to help ensure that the correct stock is delivered. Handle delivery records carefully and follow the relevant procedures for confirming deliveries. Assist with loading and offloading retail stock as required. Handle products carefully to reduce the risk of damage and help ensure that deliveries are completed correctly.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- A valid Code 10 driver’s licence.
- A valid Professional Driving Permit (PrDP).
- Grade 12 or Matric qualification.
- At least four years of driving experience.
- A clean criminal record.
- Previous commercial driving experience is preferred.
- Good knowledge of local roads and routes.
- Availability to start immediately.
